1919 was a year of great opportunity for someone with a dream and the determination to make it a reality. Allen Krevit had such a dream. He heard that a Belgian Company was making a liquid bleach, whereas bleaches had all been dry. Using a bath tub in a small garage on Howard Avenue in New Haven, Allen and his father, Hyman, experimented with the manufacture of Sodium Hypochlorite. They developed a bleach with superior cleaning properties that minimized any offensive smell. In doing so, they became the first manufacturer of Sodium Hypochlorite bleach in the United States. It was an immediate success. H. Krevit & Company remains a family business, now in its 5th generation. We now manufacture Sodium Hypochlorite with a state of the art continuous flow, and have diversified into the distribution of a growing line of chemicals that serve the needs of a wide array of Water Treatment Industries. Our customers can be found in thousands of neighborhoods throughout the Northeast.
